Soulman by Theo

I am working on a book. It is about a kid in 5th grade named A.J. Allen. Does anybody have any ideas? -Theo

I love the fact that you are writing your own book!! Are you writing about his whole 5th grade year or just an event or just a day in his life? That might help you narrow down what you want to write about. What does he like to do? What are his interests? What is his family like? Let me know and I will be as much (or as little) help as you would like. Love, Dad :)

Having already drawn comic strips ( Captain Underpants?) writing a book is the next step in your writing process. Way to go Theo! Keep us informed on your progress. Do you think AJ Allen will take any trips? Maybe to Florida for a spring break.

Great idea, Theo! I'm interested in knowing A.J. What drives him? What is the first thing he thinks about when he gets up in the morning? Is it something in the world outside or the world inside his mind? Who are his friends? I'll be anxiouys to read all about hhim! Good luck!

That is very cool and quite an auspicious (look it up Theo) goal. Very proud of you. So does AJ stand for anything and does he have a really cool Uncle???

I don't think you need any advice, Theo. You've already shown by your comic books that you can make up a story and tell it in your own words. That's all you have to do for a book - make up a good story and tell it in your own words. Carol adds that you should write about things you know - like boys, gradeschool, sports, fossils, whatever - and not things you haven't experienced. That will make your writing easier and it will make it better. Love, Power Pat
